Pasqua winery has a rich history spanning for over 98 years in the Verona region. Known for its passion for winemaking, the family has successfully combined tradition and innovation, becoming ambassadors of the Veneto wines while celebrating the cultural heritage of its origin.
Today we are going to review a genuine Prosecco wine – that famous refreshing wine style that is so much sought after all over the world – Romeo and Juliet’s Wall Prosecco Treviso Brut by Pasqua Vigneti e Cantine. Made out of glera grapes, that were sourced from the Prosecco DOC of the Treviso area, the wine was produced using the non-traditional tank method developed by Martinotti (also known as Martinotti Method or Méthode Charmat), with second fermentation in pressurized tanks. This wine style is growing in popularity with each passing season and there’s a reason why. Prosecco tends to have boisterous fruit and mesmerizing flower aromas, and because it ages in large tanks with less pressure, Prosecco has bigger and lighter bubbles that don’t last as long as in classic Champagne wine, yet the aromatic profile of a Prosecco is mesmerizing, so much that Prosecco has become the most famous italian sparkling wine, and it is meant to be enjoyed young and fresh, in order to experience its full aromatic profile and zingy fizziness.

The geography of Treviso area plays an important role in shaping the aromatic and flavour characteristics of this Prosecco wine. The region’s rolling hills create a microclimate with a long growing season that allow the grapes to ripen fully and develop complex aromatic compounds, while the unique combination of clay, limestone, and gravely soils provides excellent drainage and the much needed nutrients. All those factors form a diverse terroir that allow for production of a diverse range of Prosecco sparkling wines.

Who doesn’t love a story beyond a bottle? As the Pasqua winery has its roots in the Verona region, today’s wine name and label is inspired by the most romantic story – the famous tale of Romeo and Juliet. The label depicts an image of Juliet’s courtyard (an original photograph by Giò Martorana), where the wall under her balcony is inscribed with thousands of love messages left by tourists from around the world.
