WineStatistics will be evaluating wines in no particular order on no particular schedule. Just stay tuned and you will never miss one. If the wine is tasted more than once, the rating table will be updated so as to reflect all the new impressions and observations. The logic is simple – the more we taste, the more we learn.
Tonight we present you one of the best crémant wines made in Moldova – Radacini Reserve Brut Alb. It is made in a classic ‘méthode traditionelle’ or ‘méthode champenoise’ style, using all three Champagne‘s authentic grape varieties: chardonnay, pinot noir and pinot meunier, with second fermentation in the bottle, thus the wine was aged on lees for 18 months to add flavour and texture. But enough theory, let’s get straight to the review.

Take a look at the tasting notes bellow and our detailed assessment of the wine:
Visual
Straw yellow color with pale yellow hues towards the rim of the glass.
Olfactory
The nose is strong, filled mostly with sweet fruit with some nice honeyed hints: baked walnut, quince, dried apple, vanilla, butter, panna cotta, baked apple, white cherry jam, powdered sugar, quince jam, underripe apricot, sour apple, butter and slatestone.
Gustatory
The wine is medium-dry, with moderate alcohol level, high acidity and ripe tannin. It tastes creamy, crisp and fruity, with a nuanced yeasty profile. This is a quite well structured and smooth wine: buttery, seedy and silky, with some nice lactic accents. The wine has a fair overall balance, as it feels rich and mineral at the same time.
Aftertaste
It has a medium finish and a balanced, seedy and crisp aftertaste.

Conclusion: this is a wine on its peak form, maybe just a bit over its prime, definitely ready to drink now. To be honest, this wine is surprisingly good – silky, elegant and crisp and we would strongly recommend to pair it with fresh or baked quince slices or some pear & blue cheese summer salad, as the last one is an epic pairing indeed.
