We will be evaluating wines in no particular order on no particular schedule. Just stay tuned and you will never miss our reviews. If the wine is tasted more than once, the rating table will be updated so as to reflect all the new impressions and observations.

Tonight we are going to review a wine that has established itself as a blend that one should keep an eye on – Rosu Imparat 2017 by Minis Terrios. This wine is a blend made of feteasca neagra, merlot and cabernet sauvignon, where feteasca neagra forms the main body and flavour profile, merlot rounds up the palate and brings more red fruits to the foreground, while cabernet sauvignon adds structure and enhances the wine’s color. That said, without further ado, let’s take a look at the wine tasting results.

96x96This is definitely a fine wine of Moldova and, with a total of 91.7 points scored, this wine is right there, among the best wines we’ve rated so far. Check our complete database on the wine rating page, where you can find all the wines that we have tasted and reviewed or go to the about us page and find out more about our exquisite rating system.

Verdict: this is a fine wine blend – firm, supple and round, with a nuanced alcoholic warth on the plate and overwhelming acidity – a wine that needs a bit more time in the bottle (2 to 3 years should be fine), as it has yet to reach its prime form. The wine tastes rich, spicy and crisp, with a nuanced fruit-forward profile and a ripe seediness in the aftertaste. The wine has a fine-tannic grip on the mouthfeel, and it feels quite extracted and appealing, with a full body and a medium complexity. What this wine lacks today is some elegance and finesse on the palate – traits that might (or might not) develop with time spent into the bottle. Overall this is a well structured wine blend that is right there – among the best local wine blends. Enjoy!
