We will be evaluating wines in no particular order on no particular schedule. Just stay tuned and you will never miss our reviews. If the wine is tasted more than once, the rating table will be updated so as to reflect all the new impressions and observations.

Today we are going to review a rosé wine that took the local market by storm from its very inception – Vivienne Cuvée 2020 by Fáutor Winery. What makes this wine different from its peers is its blending formula, as this rosé wine is a blend of five red varieties: syrah, tempranillo, cabernet sauvignonmerlot and feteasca neagra – regarded by many as one of the best rosé wines from Moldova. The grapes are harvested from the Romanesti vineyard in the famous Valul lui Traian wine region, while the wine’s blending formula is a statement that despite its lightness, this wine is a serious contender for the hearts of many wine lovers. That said, without further ado, let’s take a look at the wine tasting results.

96x96This is definitely a fine wine of Moldova and, with a total of 91.9 points scored, this wine is right there, among the best wines we’ve rated so far. Verdict: this is a very fine rosé wine that is right there, at the summit of its prime form: refreshingly fresh, fruity and extremely appealing, with a nuanced crisp accent and mouth-watering acidity. It feels lean, supple and slightly tart, with well integrated alcohol and a pleasantly-crisp finale. We would recommend to drink this wine today rather than tomorrow, as long as it’s still young and beautiful in order to enjoy it at its finest. Towards the end of the palate the wine displays a slightly steely accent and a very honest fruity, but not flamboyant accent. All in all, this is one of the best rosé wines we’ve tasted so far. Enjoy!
