WineStatistics will be evaluating wines in no particular order on no particular schedule. Just stay tuned and you will never miss one. If the wine is tasted more than once, the rating table will be updated so as to reflect all the new impressions and observations. The logic is simple – the more we taste, the more we learn.
Tonight we are going to review a rosé wine, as we firmly believe that it’s the perfect wine style to help us embrace those chilly and windy nights with a subtle smile – 5 Elemente 2015 from Equinox. It’s produced in a limited edition and its blending formula is unique, as there is no other rosé wine made of 5 different grape varieties.
Let’s take a deeper look at the tasting notes and the wine’s review statistics:
Visual
Pale rose color with shades of indigo towards the rim.
Olfactory
The nose is rich, filled mostly with sweet fruit: sour cherry, wolfberry, strawberry, cranberry, red currant jam, red mirabelle, cranberry jam and some nuanced hints of wild strawberry.
Gustatory
The wine is medium-dry, with some residual sugar left after fermentation. It has high alcohol level, high acidity and medium tannin, which makes it taste fruity and jammy, with a delicious fruit-forward profile. The wine has a fair overall balance, as this is a fair, lean and fresh rosé blend, with overwhelming crispness.
Aftertaste
The wine has a medium finish and a balanced, a bit tart aftertaste.

This is definitely a fine Wine of Moldova and the overall rating says the same, with 88.9 points scored it is right there, among the best wines we’ve tasted so far. Please click on the chart icon on the left in order to get to the wine rating page, where you can find all the wines we’ve tasted to date.
Conclusion: this is definitely a wine ready to drink now, and we would strongly recommend to pair it with seafood dishes, like fore example with fresh oysters, as the wine’s acidity and residual sugar will cut nicely through fat and saltiness. This rosé will also do well as a stand alone wine, just remember to serve it slightly chilled in order to preserve the balance between those 5 elements that made the blend.
