We will be evaluating wines in no particular order on no particular schedule. Just stay tuned and you will never miss our reviews. If the wine is tasted more than once, the rating table will be updated so as to reflect all the new impressions and observations.

Today we are going to review a rosé wine that took the local market by storm from its very inception – The Rosé 2019 by Caragia Winery. This rosé wine is made of cabernet sauvignon grapes that were sourced from the relatively cool Codru region and is regarded by many as one of the best rosé wine ever made in Moldova, thus we had no choice but to give it a go. The philosophy behind the bottle is to value as much as possible the natural potential offered by the variety in the context of the local terroir. That said, without further ado, let’s take a look at the wine tasting results.

96x96This is definitely a fine wine of Moldova and, with a total of 91.3 points scored, this wine is right there, among the best wines we’ve rated so far. Verdict: this is a very fine rosé wine that is right there, at the summit of its prime form: refreshingly crisp, fruity-expressive and extremely appealing, with a nuanced seedy accent, a touch of alcoholic burn and mouth-watering acidity. We would recommend to drink this wine today, as long as it’s still young and beautiful in order to enjoy it at its finest. The wine feels well balanced and nicely structured and it tastes supple, lean and slightly bitter towards the end of the palate. All in all, this is one of the best rosé wines we’ve tasted so far – drink it now or in the next 6 months. Cheers.
