We will be evaluating wines in no particular order on no particular schedule. Just stay tuned and you will never miss our reviews. If the wine is tasted more than once, the rating table will be updated so as to reflect all the new impressions and observations.

Today we are going to review a rosé wine that is still incognito on the the local market, as most of the wine lovers are unaware of its existence – Rose 2019 by Mezalimpe. This is a single varietal rosé wine, made of cabernet sauvignon grapes that were sourced from the famous Stefan Voda region and is produced in a limited edition of only 4800 bottles. This wine is the successor of the legendary Rose 2013 wine – the rosé that conquered the wine lover’s hearts and the one than was acknowledged as the best rosé of the 2013 vintage. The philosophy behind the bottle is to value as much as possible the natural potential offered by the variety in the context of the local terroir. That said, without further ado, let’s take a look at the wine tasting results.

Verdict: this is a very fine rosé wine that is right there, at the summit of its prime form: refreshingly crisp, fruity-herbal and extremely appealing, with a nuanced sweet accent, a touch of alcoholic warmth and lovely acidity. We would recommend to drink this wine today, as long as it’s still young and beautiful in order to enjoy it at its finest. The wine feels well balanced and nicely structured as it tastes round, lean and rich, with a very harmonious crisp and appealing finale. All in all, this is one of the best rosé wines we’ve tasted so far, a wine without any sharp edges on the palate – drink now or in the next 3-6 months.
